The Air Jordan 9 was the first Jordan released after Michael’s retirement. While he never played a regular NBA season game in them, he did wear a cleat version of them when he played for the Birmingham Barons. The rising sun design on the back is inspired by Japan and the sole has words describing Michael in different languages. They are also featured on the feet of the Michael Jordan statue in Chicago.
These classic Air Jordans drop today in five different types, so pick up some for you and your family at your local City Gear.
